I work at an office and some days (like today) are incredibly slow. I'm not really supposed to have a book out because of how it looks, but I'm allowed to do anything online and thought reading online could make time go by a little quicker. I've googled free online books and am having no luck. I'd prefer it not to be the classics and that's all I can find. Any info would be awesome. Thanks :)
Downloading or reading current books online without the author's consent is illegal. It violates copyright laws.
One current author that agrees to let his book be read online is Cory Doctorow. Little Brother is the best book of 2008.
Most authors don't because it means they are not paid for the book. They feel if they take the time to write it, they should be paid.
